With the arrival of Tom Boonen and Anthony Kumpen, "Clubsport Racing" becomes "Clubsport Racing Stars" on the occasion of the 25h VW Fun Cup! Completed by the usual Philip Vandewalle and Bram Vanhengel, the quartet that will start at the Grand Classique on July 7 at Spa-Francorchamps was presented this week in Halle.
Exactly one year ago, Tom Boonen made his motor sport debut on the occasion of the 25H VW Fun Cup in the car of the Belgian VW Club. Even though the former World Cycling Champion has a busy sports schedule this year, he decided to return to VW Fun Cup for three races on the # 114: the 25 Hours VW Fun Cup, the 10 Hours of Mettet (22 -23 September) and the final of the season in Zolder (27-28 October).
The other rookie of "Clubsport Racing Stars" for the 25 Hours VW Fun Cup is Anthony Kumpen. Already associated with Tom Boonen a year ago (he is also his current team-mate in Belcar), Anthony Kumpen is a sure bet for Belgian motorsports. Co-recorder of victories at the 24 Hours of Zolder (6 between 2000 and 2012), the Limburgois has not only won many national titles, but he also won two crowns in European NASCAR (2014 and 2016). In short, it is a reference! And as the boy, who participated in "Dance with the Stars", is a real personality in Flanders, the # 114 should be in the limelight at Spa-Francorchamps.
This is all the more true as, on the track, the new "retro pop art" decoration of # 114 will invite the public and the fans to share the values of the team: conviviality, enthusiasm and professionalism. A nod to Andy Warhol, the # 114 also greets the number of UCI victories of our cycling champion.
In the pits, Joris Mans will work on the strategy of the team and M3M will do much more than the technical follow-up. Castaar, Planwine, Hazgo, Roberta Pastabar, Compare My Laps and Octane 76 are the faithful partners of the VW Fun Cup # 114. In the shadow, Spike Agency broods ideas and vouches for the spirit "Fun" project!
The start of the 25 Hours VW Fun Cup will be given at 16h, Saturday, July 7th. At this moment, for Tom Boonen, Anthony Kumpen, Philip Vandewalle and Bram Vanhengel, the emotion will be intense. And for you ?
