For 20 years, the 25 Hours VW Fun Cup has been a major event at the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps. The event, organized by Kronos Events with the support of Volkswagen Belgium and the Belgian VW Club, has long since passed the status of "simple" motor racing. On July 7th and 8th, while 115 race ladybugs will make their way to the most beautiful circuit in the world, the paddock will be full of various animations.
Two villages will be erected for the delight of young and old. In the first, the children will feast on the makeup workshop or in the bouncy castle, but they will also open big eyes in front of balloon sculptors or waders "giraffes" (Saturday only). While the whole family can have fun as part of a photo animation, fans of old Volkswagen will not miss the stand of the Belgian VW Classics Club. In addition, Volkswagen will also present different models of its range.
In the second village, a large trampoline will take altitude for a few fractions of a second, especially to have a more aerial view of the circuit - inflatable - quad and motorcycle that will allow children to get to know a motorized vehicle . For the most adventurous adults, a Skyjump (Saturday only) promises to raise the adrenaline level. And, let's not forget the trial bike demonstrations! Three "Trial Shows" are scheduled for Saturday (12h, 14h30 and 17h30), in addition to a demo "bonus" on the starting grid, shortly before 16h.
In addition to clowns, you can meet the mascot Volkswagen (always ready for selfies) or take a tour of the circuit in a small train, which will run from 10 to 20h.
Girls between the ages of 13 and 18 will also be honored at Spa-Francorchamps during the "Girls on Track" campaign, which aims to promote motorsport among women. A karting selection event - totally free - will be organized on the intermediate paddock.
On the track, in addition to the 25 Hours themselves, the demonstrations of the Porsche 919 Hybrid Evo - the ultimate evolution of the hybrid prototype having won three times the 24 Hours of Le Mans - are sure to be followed closely. Recall that this car broke the absolute record of the circuit of Spa-Francorchamps on April 9, at over 245 km / h ... average! Porsche celebrating its 70th anniversary, the public will be pampered and he will have the opportunity to approach this jewel of technology ... already legendary.
In a completely different style, the Volkswagen Oldtimers parade, just before the start, should once again show full and more than 250 ancestors are expected for a parade on the circuit.
Finally for fans of pure competition, know that races of the Belgian Gentlemen Drivers Club (BGDC) and several sprints mixing Westfield and Mazda MX5 should raise the temperature.
Alone or with your family, you have no reason to miss the 25 Hours VW Fun Cup on July 7th and 8th. Admission is free if you download your invitation on the Volkswagen website and the 25 Hours. So, it would be crazy not to enjoy!
