The Porsche 919 Hybrid Evo demonstrates at the 25 Hours VW Fun Cup!

Porsche Motorsport and Kronos Events are offering a fantastic gift to all the motorsport fans in Belgium! At the 25 Hours VW Fun Cup, taking place at Spa-Francorchamps on the 6th, 7th and 8th of July, the Stuttgart brand will show its Porsche 919 Hybrid Evo to the public as part of a farewell tour.

The Porsche 919 Hybrid, used for Porsche’s return to Prototypes in 2014, is one of the most technological cars, but also one of the most successful in modern motorsport. From 2015 till 2017, it has won the 24 Hours of Le Mans three times (which elevates the brand’s record to 19…) and no less than six world titles: three for the Constructor, three for the Drivers.

Like any other big star, the Porsche 919 Hybrid could not leave the scene without saluting its fans one last time. That’s where the idea for a farewell tour comes from, but furthermore the car has been liberated from certain regulatory constraints to reveal its true potential. The result is an absolute track record for the Porsche 919 Hybrid Evo, set on Monday April 9th at the Spa-Francorchamps race track. At the wheel, Neel Jani drove the 7,004 km in 1’41’’770, faster than the lap time realized by Lewis Hamilton during qualifying for the Belgian Grand Prix Formula 1 in 2017. The average speed of 245,61 km/h is simply dizzying!

Porsche Motorsport has revealed last Thursday the calendar for the farewell tour on its website and the fans will be over the moon to see that Spa-Francorchamps will be visited again in July, on Friday 6th and Saturday 7th of July exactly. Porsche Motorsport will organize several demonstrations during the 25 Hours VW Fun Cup, but the car will also be exposed in the paddock and spectators will be able to meet the actors who have made this Porsche 919 Hybrid a legend!

The conclusion: this is an excellent reason the lock the 6th, 7th and 8th of July in your agendas to witness this exceptional moment. See you in Spa-Francorchamps!
